Leandra Mack, MHA: I built my career the nontraditional way, starting in hands-on patient care and later moving into medical coding and auditing. Early on, I learned that determination is not enough. You need structure, education, and a long-term plan. Capella became the place where I could turn experience into leadership. While balancing full-time work and family responsibilities, I returned to school with a clear purpose: to strengthen my business and leadership skills so I could elevate my work in healthcare documentation, compliance, and payment integrity. The program sharpened how I analyze problems, manage priorities, and communicate with clarity in high-accountability environments.

Earning my degree is more than a credential. It represents persistence and the decision to keep building even when life is demanding. Capella confirmed that my goals are achievable through planning, consistency, and follow-through. That impact continues today. I regularly receive messages from Capella students and alumni seeking guidance on healthcare career paths and professional growth. I am grateful to be viewed as someone who can help others navigate the path from school to career, and I take that responsibility
