For Danyelle Bridges, earning her MS in Education at Capella University was a chance to grow her impact in a meaningful way. Through the program, she gained not only knowledge but the structure and support to develop an approach that continues to shape her work today. In this Q&A, she shares what inspired her journey, how she stayed motivated, and how her graduate experience helped bring her ideas to life.

1. What inspired you to pursue your degree at Capella University, and how did your experience help shape the development of your COPE & CONNECT™ Framework?
Danyelle Bridges: I chose Capella because I wanted a rigorous, flexible program that met me at the intersection of my professional goals and personal calling. The experience not only sharpened my scholarship but also gave me the discipline and research foundation I needed to build my COPE & CONNECT™ Framework. This framework now helps leaders and educators reset, rebuild, and reclaim purpose with measurable results.
2. Which leadership skill did you strengthen the most during your program, and how have you applied those skills to empower educators and create positive learning environments?
Danyelle Bridges: The leadership skill I strengthened most was resilience with strategy. Capella’s structure taught me how to lead with clarity under pressure. I now apply those skills by coaching educators, creating wellness systems, and helping leaders sustain positive learning environments where both students and staff can thrive.
3. What advice would you share with current students balancing their studies with professional or personal responsibilities?
Danyelle Bridges: My advice: build your rhythm, not just your schedule. Capella prepared me to merge my studies with my life in a way that didn’t compromise either. Set small, consistent goals, celebrate progress, and remember that you’re not just earning a degree — you’re building the discipline for your future impact.
4. Were there any Capella resources, such as faculty, advisors, or peer connections, that made a lasting impact on your success?
Danyelle Bridges: Yes, the mentorship and advisor support were critical. Having people who believed in my vision and gave constructive feedback created accountability and momentum. Those connections left a lasting imprint on how I now mentor others.
