On April 10, Capella University proudly launched its inaugural Alumni Speaker Series, a new initiative designed to spotlight Capella graduates as thought leaders and create meaningful spaces for professional growth, connection, and shared learning.
The first event, Building Your Professional Brand on LinkedIn, brought together a dynamic panel of accomplished alumni:
- Tina Flores, DBA, a senior executive recruiter and program manager
- Felix Hernandez, DIT, a cybersecurity expert and tech entrepreneur
- Reena Washington, MBA, an HR consultant and certified career coach
The conversation was moderated by Chundria Brownlow, PhD, a fellow graduate and Capella’s Alumni Engagement Specialist.
This live virtual panel offered real-world insights into LinkedIn best practices, personal branding, and the power of authenticity in digital spaces. From resume language and profile photos to connecting across industries and building confidence in outreach, each panelist brought honesty, clarity, and actionable guidance to the table.
Engagement Highlights
More than 500 alumni and learners registered to attend, with strong live turnout and enthusiastic participation in the chat and Q&A. Dozens of follow-up comments on LinkedIn and in direct messages expressed gratitude for the authenticity, warmth, and relevance of the conversation.
